ABOUT:

Tim Bulkley grew up in San Jose, CA where he got to experience all kinds of music.  His father George Bulkley taught elementary music in the Evergreen School District and passed on a love for music to Tim at an early age.  Tim started on violin, then piano and sang in choirs at school and church.  He started drums in his early teens.  His High School choral teacher Jan Deshera was a big influence on Tims path to study music with Phil Mattson at the The School of Music Vocations for 2 years.  He came cack to the bay area with a firmer musical footing and quickly saught out other musicians to play with and learn from.  He played regularly with Smith Dobson a great piano player and mentor early on and met a bunch of the musicans surrounding Smith.  [ which were many ] Soon after Tim moved to San Francisco where he quicky got busy with all kinds of stuff.   Some of those people include The Invisible Cities, Boz Scaggs, Anton Schwartz, Telepathy, Dayna Stephens, Michelle Amador.  In that time Tim toured Japan and China and all over the West Coast.   

In 2006 Tim and his wife Michelle moved to Brooklyn NY, excited by the energy and possibilites.  Since then TIm has played with people on both coasts regularly.  Some of the projects Tim has been involved in are Michelle Amador's band [ :) ], Anima Anonima, Sunroom, Mercury Falls, Goh Nakamura, Wil Blades, various Patrick Cress and Aaron Novik projects.
